Catherina Onezia and Joel Souyave have reported a Greater Painted-snipe at Ile Perseverance on 30 January. This is the first report for Seychelles.  Greater Painted-snipe (Catherina Onezia)

Ari Fernández, Pep Nogues, Wayne Haselau and Devan have reported a flock of 11 White-faced Whistling Ducks at a freshwater pool at Alphonse on 29-30 January. SBRC has accepted 5 previous records all from the Aldabra Group. All but one of the previous records was of single birds (the other being 3-5 birds). All but one are also from the Royal Society days on Aldabra, 1969-1977.  White-faced Whistling Ducks at Alphonse (Pep Nogués) Ari Fernández, Chris Narty and Pep Nogués have reported a Northern Wheatear at the Alphonse airstrip on 20-21 January. SBRC has accepted 69 previous records.  Northern Wheatear at Alphonse (Ari Fernández)  Common Swift at Desroches (Jo Bluemel) Jo Bluemel has reported a Common Swift at the beach of the western tip of Desroches. SBRC has accepted 35 previous records of this species including 3 from Desroches. Ari Fernández, Chris Narty and Pep Nogués have reported a Eurasian Hobby at the airstrip, Alphonse on 11 January.  Eurasian Hobby at Alphonse (Ari Fernández)  Eleonora's Falcon at Aldabra (Karen Chong Seng) Karen Chong Seng has reported an Eleonora's Falcon at the Research Station, Picard, Aldabra on 9 January 2016. SBRC has accepted 41 records of this species including 14 from Aldabra.  Common Kestrel at Denis (Janske van de Crommenacker) A Common Kestrel has been reported at Denis Island on 8 January by Janske van de Crommenacker. One was also seen on 30 November-1 December 2015 in this same location and has been accepted by SBRC as a third record for Seychelles. |
