Ospreys reported from Grand Soeur & Silhouette

SBRC has accepted just 4 records of Osprey, but has received reports of sightings on consecutive days. Christophe Gouraud, visiting Grand Soeur reported one on the island on 12 December while Elena Levorato, William McNeely and Nasreen Khan reported a bird at Grand Barbe, Silhouette, the following day. The proximity of the dates and the scarcity of previous reports suggest the sightings may involve the same individual.

I’m a birdwatcher ( not twitcher !) visiting from UK and specialise in raptors . I am pretty sure I saw an osprey on 2 consecutive visits to Anse Lasio on Prasline . Lazy large gull like flight from headland out to sea . I may well be wrong just thought I should mention and would be happy if local experts could perhaps follow up . Thank You . Ken Bates
